Mutare, Zimbabwe – The National Museums and Monuments of Zimbabwe commemorated International Museums Day 2025 at the Mutare Museum on Friday 16th May 2025, bringing together students, parents, and educators in a celebration of heritage and learning.
The highlight of the event was the National Heritage Education Quiz Finals, which saw participants from all 10 provinces competing for top honors. The Zimbabwe Free Range Poultry Association (ZFRPA) was among the sponsors of the event and generously awarded prizes to the top four schools.
The winning schools received a flock of free-range day-old chicks, with the top school receiving 200 chicks, second place getting 150, third place receiving 100, and fourth place taking home 50 chicks.
In addition to the quiz competition, attendees had the opportunity to visit the ZFRPA exhibition stand at the Mutare Museum, where they learned more about the association’s mission and initiatives.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Goto, Business Development Liaison at ZFRPA, emphasized the importance of empowering school children, saying, “Empowering school children will empower the next generation. We believe that by supporting schools and providing resources, we can help shape the future leaders and innovators of our country.”

The International Museums Day celebrations serve as a reminder of the importance of preserving and promoting cultural heritage, and the Mutare Museum continues to play a vital role in educating and engaging the community on these issues.
